I believe couples can get so caught up in the excitement of their wedding that they forget to put all the planning in some sort of order. (Stress) You have set your date, taken care of the dresses and tuxes, catering is ready as is photo and music. Now you are 1 week away and OOPS, we forgot to get an officiant.(Stress) Now you have the last minute scramble to find someone to perform your ceremony.(Stress) I know it does not happen often, but there just could be that time when no one is available. - Determine your budget and if the wedding will be formal or informal
- Choose the location for your ceremony and included a time for your rehearsal
- Find an officiant or clergy schedule a date and time to meet (get everything for your ceremony on paper 'contract')
- Choose your wedding attendants
- Create a tentative invitation list, for number of guests
- Decide on music, live or DJ. Meet with music people. Most will require a deposit
- Choose the location your reception. Check with several to compare prices and services. Most will require a deposit
- Confirm reception location
- Determine your color scheme and style
- Enroll with the bridal registry
- Select your gown, veil and accessories. Choose bridesmaids dresses. Grooms should consult with formal wear specialists about tuxes etc.
- Select photographer and/or videographer
- Select florist and plan your florals. Most will require a deposit
4 to 6 months ahead
